Here's how it works, because it's the whole reason to join.
Every month, Katelyn starts with a theme and chooses bottles from Grassroots and the other small importers we already turn to for our wine shelves and cooler. They bring us small-production wines from growers whose families have worked the same hillsides for generations. These aren't grocery store wines. Most of them you won't find at the big box places at all, and a fair number you won't find at other shops either.
Then we do something we don't do on the shelf. We take a smaller cut. Our distributors take a smaller cut as well to make this a fantastic value. People who care about these wines agreeing to make a little less on them so more of you can drink them. That's the club price.
If you're Collector, you also get 10% off every retail bottle on the wine shelf and in the wine cooler for as long as you're a active member. If Jadoon's is already your wine stop (you know who you are), that can cover a big chunk of the membership. The four bottles are kinda the bonus at that point.

Who picks the wine
Chosen by a Certified Sommelier
That's exactly the kind of wine I love putting in this club: familiar enough to understand immediately, but just unfamiliar enough that you get to discover something.
Katelyn, our level 2 Sommelier
Katelyn is a Certified Sommelier through the Court of Master Sommeliers. Most wine shops don't have one on the team. Corner markets definitely don't.
She's been working with us for over two years now, which is a polite way of saying she's the reason the wine shelf looks the way it does. She knows which bottles our regulars come back for and which ones they haven't met yet. When we started talking about a club, there wasn't really a second candidate. There wasn't really a first one either, it was just her.

This month, we're heading to Beaujolais, a region that most wine drinkers think they already know. Gamay, Beaujolais Nouveau, maybe something light and fruity served with a slight chill. And while none of those things are necessarily wrong, they barely scratch the surface.

The stuff people ask at the counter
When do I get my first bag?
Join by the 24th and your first bag is ready the first Friday of next month.
Join after the 24th and your first bag is ready the first Friday of the month after. If you join after the 24th, we skip your second payment so you're never charged for a bag you haven't picked up.

When am I charged?
On the day you signed up, every month. Sign up on the 9th and you're charged on the 9th.
Examples of what the flow looks like
Example 1:
Maya joins November 3.
She pays today. Her first bag is ready Friday, December 4 and she has 30 days to pick up.
She's charged again 1 month later on December 3, and that pays for January's bag which is ready for pick up on Friday, January 1.
Example 2:
Sam joins November 26.
He pays today (charge #1). He missed signing up by November 24, so his first bag will be ready for pickup on Friday, January 1.
He is not charged in December since there isn't a bag for him to pick up. We will "skip" his payment.
He's charged on January 26 (charge #2) and that pays for his February bag. Smooth sailing from there on out for Sam.
Can I just buy these wines off the shelf?
No. Club wines are brought in for the club and don't go on the shelf or in the cooler. The only way to get them is to be a member.
What's in the booklet?
Every wine gets the same five parts, written by Katelyn: Meet the Producer (who grew it and how long they've been at it),
Why It Matters (the things worth knowing about this bottle),
Best Enjoyed (when to open it),
Pair This With (a real recipe, plus snacks from Jadoon's that work well)
Continue Your Journey (what to reach for next if you loved it).
One Best Enjoyed line from a recent booklet, so you get the idea: “When someone texts, ‘Just bring a bottle of red,’ and you intend to wildly overperform the assignment.”
Can I cancel?
Yes, anytime, from your Toast account. No phone call, no guilt trip.
What if I miss pickup?
We hold your bag for 30 days. After that, we drink them. Sorry.
What if I don't like one of the wines?
That's why we call it exploring. Finding out what you don't like is half the job. Tell us at your next pickup, it helps Katelyn too. We are still developing this so maybe there is room in the future to do more custom bags.
Can I skip a month?
For now, if you need a break, cancel and come back whenever. We'll be here.
Can I gift it?
Yes. Sign up with your card, put their name and phone number on the membership, and the bag gets tagged for them. They still need to be 21+ with ID at pickup.
Do I have to be 21?
Yes, with a valid ID, to join and to pick up.
First Friday, all month
Pickup Fridays
Your wines get pulled and tagged with your name the first Friday of the month and they sit in the back waiting for you all month long. Come by, say hi, grab the bag. Bring your ID, every time, even we know you.
