The fruit is grown along the Delta river, at the base of the Sierra foothills. The river is fed by mountain run off from as far north as Mt. Shasta and eventually feeds into the San Francisco Bay. This coastal gap warms during the dry summer months, along with the rest of California’s massive central valley. Cool air is pulled up into the Delta from the Bay making the banks of the river a unique growing region for Pinot Noir.
